Hi! I’m Mel,

I’m a coastal fine artist, born and raised on the south eastern side of Lake Macquarie. I’ve always felt at home by the lake and the beach. After years away from the easel, I picked up my paintbrush again in 2024 at age 46 - and haven’t looked back.
I paint the places I love : quiet mornings on the beach, headlands, surf breaks and the natural beauty of Australia’s East Coast. My work is coastal, relaxed, full of feeling and always grounded in home.
Creating under ‘Stones Thow Creations’, I now focus on local seascapes, surf culture and heartfelt commissions that capture the essence of place.
